antisocial media

you know when the internet was created everyone thought it was a way for us to stay connected… however all it has done has turned the youth of the world into socially awkward serial daters who don’t know how to feel emotion and are disconnected from life.

we’re too busy blogging about our lives on all forms of social media instead of living them.

we know how to sound fun, appealing and let the words flow so easily behind a screen, but the minute we come face to face with a real person those skills are irrelevant and we become like shy awkward toddlers again.

where is the need for reality? the need for compassion?! the need to feel all that is around us and see all the beauty in the everyday battles?!

i wish i lived in a world before the internet, before cell phones became vital organs and before saying hi and smiling at strangers was weird.
